The BMI Charter School will accept application from all students seeking a small alternative elementary school/ middle school. Admission to BMI will require that a parent or guardian – or individual who can present a notarized confirmation from the parent/guardian giving permission to enroll the student – bring a student to the school and sign documents verifying the identification and legal eligibility of the student. In the case of divorced parents, the parent granted custody, as verified by a legal court decree, is eligible to enroll the child.
A student is eligible for admission is the student meets all requirements mandated under the Texas Education Code (TEC) 29.202 and financial requirements as mandated under TEC 29.203.
The following documents will be required of each student:
- Pre-enrollment Form
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of Residency (Social Security Card)
- Current Immunization Record
- Student Transcript or Last Report Card
- Testing Scores
All forms must be completed and retained in the Beatrice Mayes Institute Charter School office.
Important: BMI may have a waiting list in the grade level of your particular interest. Your child will not be registered as a prospective student until all required documentation is received, filed, and matches information of the Pre-enrollment Form (online form).
You may submit the required documentation for admissions by the options:
- Certified Mailing (United States Postal Service)
- Personally deliver to BMI Charter School main office.
